The companies created a partnership to develop a model called “AquaVest” to guide the water transition. Both companies have a background in the energy sector and energy and water transition planning are very similar processes. Frontier specializes in water management and business innovation and Quo Mare is an expert in developing algorithms from scratch and building optimization models. The partners have complementary skills and are keen to collaborate on this important topic!
Frontier Ventures B.V. (the initiator of the partnership) specializes in water management, business innovation and partnerships. Founder of Frontier Ventures, Duska Disselhoff, has 12 years of experience in working for Shell International. In her last role she pioneered the application of a techno-economic optimisation algorithm (very similar to AquaVest) to develop innovative water management strategies for a project in Oman. After her employment with she, she became partner at QStone Capital B.V. where she contributed to the development of innovative deal flow in the water infrastructure investment space. Many of the team members have a background in the energy or investment sector.
Quo Mare B.V. develops mathematical algorithms and offers advanced analytics and optimization services. Founder of Quo Mare, Rutger de Mare, used to work as principal consultant and director of business development at Ortec B.V. and as operations research consultant at Shell. The company’s drive is to help companies develop analytic capabilities through the development of optimization models. The team consists of optimization consultants and R&D specialists. Some of them have worked for many years in the energy sector and were involved with the application of the techno-economic optimisation algorithm (very similar to AquaVest) for the project in Oman.
The partners have complementary skills and are looking forward to support both public and private sector organizations in their water transition journey!
